. These are used the same way you would use a height gauge. The body is made from 6061 Grade Aluminum bar stock. The dimensions are 1″ X 1″ X 2″ long. There is a V shaped groove milled into the body to accept the 1/8″ carbide rod. The thumb screw is solid brass and is threaded 1/4″-20. The tungsten carbide rod has a beautifully ground point on one end and a slight chamfer on the back end. The aluminum body has a 1/4″-20 threaded thru hole in it to accept the thumb screw. A new style heavy machined aluminum washer under the thumb screw secures the carbide rod in the block’s V-groove. This scribe will adjust from Zero to a little over 1/4″ high so you can use it to mark the center of a piece of stock up to at least 1/2″ thick. These are simple and easy to use to make a single or the dual lines which many prefer. Either way always mark your stock from both sides of your work. Made in The USA in a Small New Hampshire Shop.
